§ 01

The Manga

What is Gokurakugai (極楽街)?
Gokurakugai is an action dark-fantasy manga written and illustrated by Yuto Sano (佐乃夕斗), serialized in Jump SQ Rise. It follows the atmospheric, gang-run underworld district of Gokurakugai and the characters who live within it.

Where can I read it officially?
We list official, licensed reading platforms on our Links page. We don't host, link to, or discuss access to unauthorized scans on this site or in Discord.

Is this site affiliated with Yuto Sano or Shueisha?
No. This is an unofficial, fan-run community. See our Disclaimer for the full statement.

Where do spoilers go?
Recent-chapter discussion belongs in designated spoiler channels in Discord, tagged with spoiler markup. See §4 and our Community Guidelines.

§ 02

About the Community

What does this website offer?
A central hub for the Gokurakugai fandom: the community wiki, Discord invite, news/chapter tracking, character galleries, and tools like the mute/ban appeal system.

How do I join the Discord server?
Use the invite link on the homepage, our Links page, or discord.gg/gokurakugai. Membership is free and open to all fans.

Who runs this community?
A volunteer staff team of fans — moderators, wiki editors, and admins. See our Staff page (if available) or ask in Discord to learn who's currently on the team.

§ 03

Account & Login

Do I need an account to browse the site?
No. Browsing, reading the wiki, and viewing community content requires no account. Logging in with Discord is only needed for the appeal system and certain interactive features.

Is it safe to log in with Discord?
Yes. We use Discord's official OAuth login. We never see or store your password, and we only request the minimum permissions needed (your identity and server membership).

What channels does the server have?
Gokurakugai is organized into themed "districts." Here's the full directory — exact channels may shift slightly as the server evolves, but this reflects the current layout:

A few channels (like district-self-roles and case-files) are restricted or read-only for regular members — that's intentional, not a bug. A couple of others (like private staff channels) aren't visible to regular members at all and aren't listed here.

What are the server rules?
Full rules live in district-regulation and on our Community Guidelines page — respect, spoiler etiquette, no piracy links, no spam, and following staff direction.

Can I share fan art or theories?
Yes! Post fan art in gokurakugai-art-gallery and cosplay in gokurakugai-cosplays — both are forum-style channels. General series theories go in gokurakugai-discussion.

Can I advertise my own server or project?
Only with staff approval via district-partners, and never via unsolicited DMs to members. See our Guidelines.

What happens if I post in execution-zone?
It's a honeypot channel, not a real chat — it exists to catch bots and bad actors. Don't post there; it's not for support or general use.

§ 05

Level & Role System

How does leveling work?
The server runs a custom activity-based level system. The more you chat in text channels, the more XP you earn — staying engaged unlocks new colors, icons, and prestige roles as you climb.

What's the XP rate?
The server runs a 1.5× XP rate, meaning members level up roughly 35% faster than Discord's default leveling pace.

What do I get for leveling up?
At set level milestones you're automatically granted a themed role — everything from starting "lantern glow" ranks up to the prestigious Jimushou tiers. The full ladder is below.

How do I check my level?
Use the level-check command in #bot-commands (see §9) — the bot will reply with your current level, XP, and next milestone.

Tier 1 — Default
#LevelRole
110Iraijin
225Hourai Staff
340Hourai Regular
455Beastman
570Artisan
685Saragi Minarai
Tier 2 — Knot
#LevelRole
7100Junior Inventor
8115Field Medic
9130Maga Research Analyst
10145Head Medic
11160Kunrensei Maga Killer
12175Maga Hanshin
Tier 3 — Shou
#LevelRole
13190Hanma (Half-Maga)
14205Inventor
15220Information Broker
16235Maga Killer
17250Jōkyū Maga Killer
Tier 4 — Jimushou
#LevelRole
18265Saragi-chōkan
19280Kaiketsu-shi Jimusho-chō
20300Head of Family

Role names and colors follow Gokurakugai's own lore terminology — from rank-and-file Hourai roles up through Maga Killer specializations and the Jimushou (office) leadership tiers.

§ 06

Modmail

What is modmail?
Modmail lets you privately contact the staff team by DMing Tao, our main utility bot, directly. Your message gets forwarded into a private staff thread, so you can report issues, ask sensitive questions, or flag other members without posting publicly.

How do I open a modmail thread?
Send a direct message to Tao on Discord. It will create a thread visible to staff and relay their replies back to your DMs.

What should I use modmail for?
Reporting rule-breaking, harassment, or bugs privately; asking staff-only questions; anything you'd rather not post in a public channel. For mute/ban appeals specifically, use the dedicated appeal form instead — it's tracked and reviewed differently than modmail.

Will my modmail message be anonymous?
No — staff can see who sent it (this prevents abuse of the system), but the thread itself isn't visible to other members.

§ 07

Moderation & Appeals

I was muted or banned — what do I do?
Head to our Appeal page, log in with the Discord account that was punished, and follow the on-screen form.

How long does an appeal take to review?
Our staff team reviews appeals as they come in. Response times vary depending on volume — you'll be notified via Discord once a decision is made.

Can I submit more than one appeal?
Only one active appeal per punishment is allowed. Submitting duplicate appeals may delay review.

What's the difference between modmail and an appeal?
Modmail is for general private contact with staff. The appeal form is specifically for contesting a mute or ban and goes through a separate, tracked review process — see §6.

§ 08

Wiki & Content

Can I edit the wiki?
Yes — the Gokurakugai Wiki is community-editable. Create a Fandom account and start contributing. See the wiki's own community guidelines before editing.

I found an error on the wiki or website — how do I report it?
Use our Contact page, open a modmail thread, or flag it directly to staff in the Discord server.

Can I use wiki images/content elsewhere?
Manga artwork belongs to Yuto Sano and Shueisha — see our Disclaimer. Original wiki writing is community-contributed; check with staff before large-scale reuse.

§ 09

Bots & Commands

What bots does the server use?
Two custom bots run most of the server:

Server Bots
BotPurpose
Taohandles modmail, moderation tools, the mute/ban appeal backend, and most other community utilities (chapter-release pings, embeds, etc.).
Almaa custom MEE6 bot that runs the level/XP system, the tier role ladder described in §5, and the achievement tracking in #achievements.

If a command doesn't seem to work, double-check you're using it with the right bot — leveling commands go to Alma, everything else generally goes to Tao.

Where do I use bot commands?
The #bot-commands channel is the designated spot for triggering commands (level checks, leaderboards, etc.) without cluttering other channels.

How do I see the full command list?
Check the pinned messages in #bot-commands, or ask a staff member — pinned posts are kept up to date with the current command set and the level role ladder shown in §5.

§ 10

Troubleshooting

The appeal page won't submit / shows an error.
Try refreshing and logging in again. If it still fails, open a modmail thread or use our Contact page with a screenshot of the error — staff can process appeals manually if needed.

I didn't get my level role after leveling up.
Role assignment can occasionally lag behind XP updates. Send a message to refresh your activity, and if the role still doesn't appear after a while, flag it to staff via modmail.

A link on the site is broken.
Please report it via Contact so we can fix it — broken links are usually just missed during a redesign.
