Who We Are
Gokurakugai Fan Community is an independent, non-commercial fan hub built entirely by and for readers of Gokurakugai (極楽街) — the action dark-fantasy manga serialized in Jump Square by Yuto Sano. We are not affiliated with Yuto Sano, Shueisha, or any official publisher.
What started as a small Discord server has grown into a multi-platform community spanning a dedicated website, wiki, social media pages, and moderated discussion spaces. Everything here is fan-made, fan-run, and fan-funded through the goodwill of its members.

Our Mission
Gokurakugai is a manga that deserves a bigger audience. Its intricate world-building, memorable characters, and stunning fight choreography rival the best in the medium — yet it remains relatively unknown outside Japan. Our mission is to change that.
We exist to be the single best place on the internet for English-speaking Gokurakugai fans. That means a clean, well-organised community; accurate, well-maintained fan resources; and a moderation approach that keeps the space welcoming to readers of every background and experience level.
We also firmly believe in supporting the official release. Every member is encouraged to read on MANGA Plus (free, legal) or VIZ Media, and to purchase volumes when they are able. The manga's continued serialization depends on it.
Staff & Roles
The community is maintained by a small team of volunteer staff. Staff are selected based on activity, judgment, and demonstrated care for the community — not on seniority or tenure alone.
District Heads oversee the overall health of the community, manage staff, handle escalated issues, and make final decisions on major changes to the server or site.
District Managers enforce community rules, review flagged content, issue warnings, and ensure day-to-day conversations stay welcoming and on-topic.
Junior Agents are moderators-in-training who assist with rule enforcement and member support while learning the ropes under supervision of District Managers.
The bot developer maintains the custom Discord bots that power automated moderation, announcements, and community tools across the server.
Helpers assist newer members, answer questions about the community, and support District Managers during busy periods. An optional entry point into the staff pipeline.
The server also operates two classes of automated members. Enforcers are the bots that keep the server running — handling moderation triggers, automated responses, and background tasks. Among them are the Troubleshooters: two custom-built bots developed specifically for this community. Tao primarily manages utility functions including modmail, while Alma handles the server's level system via a custom Mee6 setup.

Content Standards
All community spaces are governed by the same set of core principles:
- Respect for all members — no harassment, hate speech, slurs, or targeted hostility of any kind.
- Age-appropriate content — all spaces are open to members 13 and older; content must reflect that.
- No piracy — sharing or linking to illegal scans or aggregator sites is prohibited across all platforms.
- Credit creators — fan art must be credited to the original artist. Resharing without permission is not permitted.
- Spoiler courtesy — spoiler tags and flair must be used in all relevant spaces, without exception.
