Yuto Sano (佐乃夕斗, Sano Yūto) is a Japanese manga artist and the creator of Gokurakugai (極楽街, lit. "Paradise Street"). Growing up with a father who read Weekly Shonen Jump, they developed a love for manga from a young age and began aspiring to become a manga artist during middle school.
After graduating in 2017, Sano studied at Tokushima Anabuki College, where they showed their work to editors twice a year and mastered digital illustration tools. Their breakthrough came that same year when they won the Gessan Newcomer Award Winter Season from Shogakukan at just 20 years old — their official debut as a manga artist.
While working as an assistant to a professional manga artist — learning backgrounds, inking, and digital toning — Sano developed their own works, including the oneshot Gokurakugai: Trouble on Third Avenue, published in Jump SQ.RISE in January 2020. The strong reader response led to a full serialization of Gokurakugai in Jump Square, beginning July 4, 2022. By early 2026, the series had surpassed 1.4 million copies in circulation, earning multiple awards including the Next Manga Award 2023 and the U-Next Award 2025.
